When clients are not physically present in my office (e.g., therapy by telephone ) I take extra precautions to meet my responsibilities to clients. Prior to utilizing electronic therapy, I consider the appropriateness and suitability of this therapeutic modality to the clients needs. When therapy occurs by electronic means, I inform patients of the potential risks, consequences, and benefits, including but not limited to, issues of confidentiality, clinical limitations, transmission difficulties, and ability to respond to emergencies. I ensure that such therapy complies with the informed consent requirements of the California Telemedicine Act. Call me for Fee info for phone therapy. If phone therapy is suitable for the client's unique situation, we can schedule an assessment away.
